Q: - How soon should a member receive the major degrees (2nd and 3red degrees)
A: - As soon as possible wherever there is a major degree. The first degree member must present his 1st degree membership card upon registering at the site of the major degree location and recommended as an option to have a fellow 3rd degree member or 4th degree member to accompany the major degree candidate. This is not necessary but is recommended.
There is no cost for KC 6269 members to receive the major degrees. The benefits are huge.
Q: - Is it permissable for first degree members to serve in a council elected post or assigned director or chairman position.
A: - Supreme by-laws states no elected officer are assigned director or chairman can hold those positions without exception, Major degree must have been received. If there is an instance this may occur the member in questionk that is overlooked by the FS, the unqualified member must receive the next available major degree provided it is not a prolonged period to his receiving the major degree. No person may vote as an elected officer not having received the major degree.
Q: - May a member discuss information of a debate or similar conversation within a council meeting to anyone outside of the meeting that is not a equal degree member
A: - Anything personal or misleading is not to be discussed other than with members of equal good standing at attending the meeting.
